Paris 2008

The first International Degrowth Conference for Ecological Sustainability and Social Equity took place in Paris in April 2008 (18th and 19th). This first Degrowth Conference was visited by 140 participants from about 30 countries. The conference was organized by Research and Degrowth, Institut TELECOM SudParis, the International Society for Ecological Economics, the Sustainable Europe Research Institute and the Wuppertal Institute. One conclusion of the conference was that "This conference is a starting point, not a 'one shot' event". By now this can certainly be considered as being confirmed.
