Join Us for the "Beyond Degrowth – Global South Monthly Series"
This month, we are honored to have Dr Vandana on November 18th, 2024: at 12:00 PM (UTC)
Development versus environment is a key debate in the everyday lived reality of people of the Global South. Vandana will discuss and argue that this is an artificially created tradeoff. Grounded in the Indian context, she discusses the development narrative and it's social and environmental impact.
Is degrowth only for the Global North? We will learn and discuss how to speak about post-development and degrowth ideas in the Global South contexts
The session will run from 1h – 1h & 30 minutes.
This series is hosted by the Global South Working Group Circle of the International Degrowth Network (IDN).
The IDN is a collective of organizations, activists, researchers, artists and practitioners committed to promoting and strategizing for degrowth. Established in 2023, the IDN focuses on international cooperation, diverse narratives, community building, public awareness, and implementing degrowth strategies.
