Abstract: It seems necessary and urgent to establish a research net to integrate collaborative efforts between scientists concerned with degrowth and social and ecological recovery. We must develop a new Economic Science for critical analysis of global, macro-regional, national and micro-regional systems able to combine traditional parameters with new parameters needed to interpret new factors such as climate change, ecological and social resilience loss, decreasing carrying capacity, decrease of nonrenewable resources including biodiversity, species extinction, and increasing environment overloading, global financial crisis and risk of human extinction. This new Economic Science will need to be also capable of evaluating degrowth alternatives within different future scenarios. The partnership should consider a selected set of valuable efforts made in the past and also important current efforts being made by scientists who use different sets of biophysical systems variables, political phenomena analysis categories, and socio-cultural models. An example will be given considering the possibility of an interface between Emergy Assessment (H. T. Odum) and Critical Analysis of Political Economy (K. Marx).
