Regional Degrowth Groups

The global degrowth ecosystem is complex, diverse and not easy to pin down. Nevertheless, here are two attempts to do so through two complementary tools that have evolved over the years, each developed through different initiatives. We present them together in this section, as they both offer a rich entry point into degrowth in practice at the local level.

The Degrowth Map provides a visually engaging overview of groups, organisations, and local initiatives active around the world, helping users connect with communities and discover ongoing projects. But it is not a centralized initiative therefore it is possible that some elements are out of date. Meanwhile, the Degrowth Database, is a text-based resource offering a much more detailed and structured collection of entries — from academic papers and books to videos, podcasts, and forums — supporting deeper learning and research.

Keep in mind there is is natural overlap between them, reflecting the diversity and interconnectedness of the international degrowth movement.
