First Session May 30th: Theoretical and Historical Background of the Colonization of Kurdistan

In this series the group will examine how colonial domination has been produced through borders, militarization, genocide, extraction, criminalization, linguistic and educational repression, and gendered violence. Kurdish feminist and decolonial alternatives will also briefly be discussed, including women’s liberation, democratic confederalism, ecological politics, and autonomous educational institutions. If there is enough interest, the series will continue into the Fall specifically to further discuss different forms of resistance and anti-colonial organization across Kurdistan.
