From the conference programme: The extensive use of dirty energy sources causes severe environmental and social damages while 2,7 billion people have no access to modern energy supplies. Further, the current energy system – including renewable energies – often leads to the exploitation of workers and people, especially in the Global South. A global energy transformation has to be organized in a democratic, bottom-up way, where all stakeholders, especially from the Global South and local communities, are included. In this panel (pre-)conditions for an energy transformation are discussed.
